Bending stainless steel tubes

We perform bending and roll bending operations on tubes, pipes, section bars and tubular elements in stainless steel. Bent stainless steel tubes are particularly required for use in external environments. This is because of their resistance to corrosion, which is very important when surfaces are put to the test by atmospheric agents, without losing any of their mechanical strength.

Processing stainless steel tubes and section bars

By bending the stainless steel tube (mainly AISI 304 and AISI 316 alloys), we obtain a product that, in addition to resisting well in atmospheres that are humid, saline or subject to chemical agents, rain and solar radiation, also shows excellent resistance to static stresses, is easily washable and, in general, esthetically superior – a significant consideration in sectors like construction and architecture – to carbon steel.

Inspections

It is absolutely essential for stainless steel bars to be handled with the maximum care and attention, because any nicks or scratches would be visible and often difficult to remove.

Quality Certification

The certificate of conformity of the stainless steel alloy guarantees the ability to trace data that is often fundamental, like the casting lot, chemical analysis and much more.

Types of tubes and relative cross sections

We can bend stainless steel tubes in standard diameters and cross sections of round tubes or tubular elements, as well as for special section bars, both open and closed.

Methods of bending and processing stainless steel tubes and pipes

The processes possible on stainless steel tubes and pipes are bending and roll bending.

What determines the use of one or the other is the average bend radius: in fact, in theory, it is possible to bend the tube when the average radius does not exceed 5 times the value of the tube’s cross section, while for radii that exceed this proportion, roll bending will be the choice.

Another key factor in the choice of one method rather than the other is the thickness of the material.

Bending

Bending of stainless steel is more difficult that shaping iron, as its technical characteristics give it greater tensile strength.

Roll Bending

The process of roll bending stainless steel makes it possible to produce parts for use in food processing equipment, in the furniture sector and in shipbuilding.

Laser cutting

Slots and holes produced with the laser tube can be made more quickly and economically than those created using standard machinery such as drills or work centers.

Industrial sectors that use bent stainless steel section bars

The greatest advantage offered by stainless steel, and which quite often determines the choice to use it, is its exceptional resistance to corrosion. This makes it the material of choice for parts in shipbuilding, in the medical sector, in fitness or food processing equipment, as well as in building and construction in general.

Other metals we process

Stainless steel is only one of the metals we use at Tecnocurve. We are also specialized in the cold bending of steel and aluminum.

Steel

Without question, one of the most widely used metals in the greatest number of sectors, its cost and its ease of bending are the main strong points and most classical reasons for its use.

Aluminum

Col vantaggio della leggerezza e dello straordinario rapporto peso/resistenza, l’alluminio è un materiale per il quale la curvatura del tubo rappresenta un’operazione più complessa rispetto agli altri metalli, scopri perchè.
